Award-winning author Rose Tremain opens the first Harrogate History Festival to discuss her new book, Merivel: A Man of His Time; a novel The Independent has deemed ‘an unadulterated delight’ and its hero, Robert Merivel, described as ‘one of the great imaginative creations in English literature of the past 50 years’ by The Telegraph. Rose Tremain’s best-selling novels have won prizes including the Orange Prize and the Whitbread Novel of the Year. Rose will be interviewed by Emeritus Professor Jon Cook.
